Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested 18 individuals suspected of supplying logistics to Boko Haram terrorists, in what authorities describe as part of a wider network sustaining insurgent activities in Nigeria’s North-East region.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects were intercepted while travelling through Gubio en route to the Gudumbali axis, allegedly conveying supplies intended for terrorist elements. Security sources further revealed that initial confessions point to economic hardship as a motivating factor, suggesting that criminal groups continue to exploit vulnerable individuals to sustain their operations.

The Nigerian Army has warned against any form of collaboration with terrorist groups, stressing that providing logistics, intelligence, or assistance constitutes a serious offence with significant implications for national security and public safety.

Authorities emphasized that the fight against terrorism requires collective responsibility, noting that the success of ongoing military operations is heavily dependent on the vigilance and cooperation of host communities. Citizens have been urged to report suspicious movements and resist any inducement to support criminal networks.

The Army also highlighted the importance of complementary socio-economic interventions aimed at addressing underlying vulnerabilities in affected areas. It noted that sustained government efforts in empowerment programmes, skills acquisition, and improved access to basic services would help reduce susceptibility to recruitment by criminal groups.
