Our Economy Too Fragile For Another Lockdown – Buhari Cautions Nigerians Against Second Wave Of COVID-19

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged Nigerians to do all they can to prevent a second wave of coronavirus in the country as being witnessed in other countries.

The President noted that the nation cannot afford another lockdown in the event of another outbreak of the virus disease.

It should be noted that some European countries including Germany and France have announced another lockdown in their countries to contain the second wave of the dreaded disease.

In a Twitter post on Thursday, President Buhari urged citizens to ensure that COVID-19 cases which has been declining in recent times do not rise again.

“Looking at the trends in the other countries, we must do all we can to avert a second wave of Covid-19 in Nigeria,” the President wrote.

“We must make sure that our cases, which have gone down, do not rise again. Our economy is too fragile to bear another round of lockdown.”
