Mohammed Adamu, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), has assured that officers who were injured in the violence that erupt during the ENDSARS protests will get promoted to their next rank.

Adamu stated this during his tour of burnt police facilities in Edo State on Wednesday, while assuring of improved security and community-oriented policing to combat crime in the state.

The IGP also revealed police officers across the country will continue to enjoy health insurance even after retirement.

“While in service, we registered for Health Insurance Scheme but it stops when we retired,” he said.

“Now, this government said no, it is not encouraging and it is now part of the law that those that have retired from the force will continue to enjoy health insurance scheme.”
