Nigeria’s Infectious Disease Expert, Prof. Lawson Dies Of COVID-19

A Nigerian infectious disease experts, Prof. Lovett Lawson has died of complications from the dreaded coronavirus disease.

Prof. Lawson died in an isolation centre at the National Hospital, Abuja, on Monday.

Dr. Tayo Haastrup, the spokesperson for the National Hospital confirmed his death on Monday evening.

“ I can confirm that Prof. Lawson died at the National Hospital today. His loss is a painful one indeed,” said Haastrup.

The deceased was, until his death, the Chairman, Board of Directors, Zankli Medical Centre, Abuja.
