Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has reportedly agreed to terms of a new two-year contract offered to him by the Nigeria Football Federation.

Rohr whose contract is expected to expire in June, had been in contract renewal talks with the NFF since the beginning of the year.

A member of his backroom staff confirmed to The Punch on the condition of anonymity that the Eagles coach had already agreed to the terms of the new deal.

He said the draft sent to the Franco-German was agreed on and the federation would send the contract document to the coach to sign latest next week.

“He (Rohr) has accepted the new terms and it’s just a matter of days before the deal is sealed. He loves Nigeria and he is excited to coach the Eagles again,” the source said.

Some of the provisions in Rohr’s new contract include paying him in local currency as against his current 45,000 euro ($49,000) monthly salary.

The 66-year-old is also expected to spend more time living in Nigeria itself.

If the new two-year contract is signed, Rohr will be expected to lead Nigeria to qualification for a seventh World Cup finals and the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
