Man Arraigned for alleged theft of mattress worth N150,000

A 29-year-old man, Lukman Soloko was on Thursday arraigned before a Mapo Grade A Customary Court in Ibadan for allegedly stealing a mattress valued at N150,000.

 

Soloko, who pleaded not guilty, is being tried for breaking in and stealing.

 

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Ayodele Ayeni told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the crime sometime in October, about 2.00 p.m, at Tewogbade area of Ibadan.

 

Ayeni alleged that Soloko broke into the apartment of the complainant, Opeyemi Adeola and stole a mattress valued at N150,000.

 

The prosecutor stated that the offences contravened the provision of sections 412 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 38, Vol. ii, laws of Oyo State, 2000.

 

The court’s President, Mrs O.E. Owoseni admitted him to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two reliable sureties in like sum.

 

Owoseni said that the two sureties must be defendant’s relatives and they must possess valid identification card.

 

She adjourned the matter until Jan. 20, 2026 for hearing
