JUST IN: 25-Year-Old Man Dies Of COVID-19 In Lagos

Lagos State government has announced the death of a coronavirus patient in the state.

Prof. Akin Abayomi, the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, stated, via his verified Twitter handle on Thursday, that the patient was a 25-year-old male who, at the time of admission, was already in a state of ‘severe breathlessness’.

The announcement brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the state to 20.

Abayomi tweeted: “We regret to announce additional #COVID19 related death involving a 25 year old male who at the time of admission was in a state of severe breathlessness.

“Total number of #COVID19 related deaths in Lagos is now 20.

“I again urge Lagos residents to remain committed to observing necessary precautionary measures to stop #COVID19 infection.

“Let’s be vigilant and report any concern about #COVID19 infection in our communities.”

According to the Lagos health Commissioner, as at 29th April, 2020, 87 new #COVID19 cases were confirmed in Lagos on April 29, 2020. Total number of confirmed cases in Lagos is now 947 while the total number of discharged patients in Lagos now stands at 187.
