The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has remarked that it will take a miracle for the dreaded coronavirus to disappear from the world.

Delivering his sermon titled, ‘Seven ways to deal with a mountain,’ on Sunday via Dove Television Station, the general overseer said the pandemic would only subside like flu and Ebola, adding that it will take a special miracle to get rid of the virus completely.

“Coronavirus is not going to disappear completely. Just like the flu and Ebola, it would subside. In the mighty name of Jesus, it would subside soon. But that it would leave the world completely, that would take a special miracle of God,” said Adeboye.

“I told you that this year, the world will behave like a child in convulsion. I told you at the beginning of the year, even though I am not a prophet, but a Pastor. You will come out of this problem safe and sound, but you must take the step of faith.”

He said the virus would continue to live with mankind while those who fear God would be spared.

Recall that the World Health Organisation, WHO had similarly remarked that COVID-19 may become endemic in the same way as HIV and populations around the world will have to learn to live with it, Meridian Spy reported week ago.

Mike Ryan, an emergency expert of the United Nations health agencies, said COVID-19 may never be wiped out entirely as some countries continue to gradually ease its lockdown restrictions.

“It is important to put this on the table: this virus may become just another endemic virus in our communities, and this virus may never go away. HIV has not gone away, but we have come to terms with the virus,” Ryan said.

“I think it is important we are realistic and I don’t think anyone can predict when this disease will disappear. I think there are no promises in this and there are no dates. This disease may settle into a long problem, or it may not be.”
