INEC Mulls Use Of Electronic Voting Machine For 2021 Anambra Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is considering the use of electronic voting machine for 2021 Anambra State governorship election.

Mahmood Yakubu, INEC Chairman made this known during an interview with newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday.

Speaking after appearing before the House of Representatives Committee on INEC to defend the commission’s 2021, Yakubu said the commission was determined to deploy electronic voting machines and electronic balloting machines in all elections in the country.

“It is difficult to give you an idea of cost or when the process would be concluded, but we are determined that we are going to deploy electronic voting machines, electronic balloting machines very soon in our elections,” said INEC Chairman.

“Possibly beginning with the Anambra governorship election next year.”
