The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has concluded plans to arraign former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, before both federal and state high courts over a raft of corruption-related charges.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Commission’s spokesperson, John Okor Odey, El-Rufai will be arraigned alongside one Joel Adoga at the Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
The case, marked FHC/KD/73/2026, borders on allegations including conversion and possession of public property as well as money laundering.
In a related development, the anti-graft agency disclosed that a separate charge has also been filed against El-Rufai and another defendant, Amadu Sule, before a Kaduna State High Court.
The state-level suit, with charge number KDH/KAD/ICPC/01/26, contains allegations ranging from abuse of office and fraud to intent to commit fraud and conferring undue advantage.
The Commission noted that both charges were filed on March 18, 2026, adding that the date for arraignment in the state high court would be communicated in due course.
ICPC further confirmed that El-Rufai has been duly served with the charges.
Reaffirming its stance, the Commission emphasized its commitment to due process and adherence to the rule of law in the prosecution of the cases.
