Gov. Obiano’s Aide Laid To Rest In His Hometown Amid Tears And Heartbreaking Tributes

Sheriff Emeka Eboh Zadok, a former aide to Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State, has been laid to rest.

The remains of Mr. Eboh were laid to rest in his hometown, Umuobasi – Isuochi in Umuneochi Local Government Area of Abia State in a befitting and landmark funeral ceremony on Wednesday.

His remains were accompanied by student leaders and comrades of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in an intimidating convoy from Alice Ewubare Morgue, Awka Anambra State, down to his hometown in Abia, on Wednesday morning.

Late Mr. Sheriff Emeka Eboh Zadok was buried amid tears and heartbreaking tributes. Family members, friends and political acolytes showered encomiums and praises on late Mr. Eboh, who was severally described as “a good man with a good heart, and a pacesetter who gave generously to the poor and needy.”

Politicians of note, youth leaders and renowned activists from all walks of life graced the funeral service, including the representatives of the governors of Abia and Anambra states. Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State was ably represented by Hon. Chinedu Benjamin Obidigwe, the honourable member representing Anambra East and West at Federal House of Representatives.

While Mr. Okezie Ikpeazu, Governor of Abia State, was ably represented by Mr. Emeka Yellow Ikpegbu, the Commisioner, Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ASOPADEC).

The global President of NANS, Comr. Danielson Bamidele Akpan was also in attendance with a number of members of the national executive council of the organization to bid farewell to the deceased comrade.

Media entrepreneur and publisher of Median Spy Newspaper, Sunny Ibeh Jnr, who was also in attendance at the funeral service, described the late aide as a personal benefactor, role model and a political inspiration.

Comr. Chibuzor Udom, Special Assistant to the Abia State Governor on students matters, Comr. Adeyemi Azeez, Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor, on youth and students’ matters, Comr. Chidi Ilogebe, Special Assitant to the Governor of Enugu State on Students matters, Comr. Anselm Nebife, the national youth leader of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), and other innumerable political dignitaries also graced the funeral.

As a prelude to the funeral, Candle Light Processions were held on Tuesday evening across the 36 states of the federation by comrades and student leaders of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in his honour.

Mr. Eboh died at the Chukwu Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Amaku-Awka, Anambra State, on July 7 after a brief illness.

He is survived by his wife, Treasure Ekpereamaka Eboh, his mother and members of his immediate family.
