On Tuesday, 29th January, the news of the abduction of Mr Donatus Nwamkpa, the chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Abia State awashed the media space. The shocking news left many concerned Nigerians with unverified insinuations on the possible forces behind Nwamkpa’s abduction.

However, MERIDIAN SPY, has reliably gathered that Mr Donatus Nwamkpa only stage-manged his own abduction with his internal loyalists, contrary to popular reports that he must have been kidnapped by opposition political parties in the State.

We, can reliably report that no one had kidnapped the embattled APC gaffer, rather he stage-managed his own abduction for some political reasons.

According to a close source in Abia APC, Nwamkpa has been playing the ostrich as regards his true political intentions in the forth coming general elections in the State. This Newspaper reliably gathered that the controversial chairman has also been on the secret payroll of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State without the knowledge of his party.

He has been secretly working with the Peoples Democratic Party in the State;  giving them soft-landing through the adoption frail decisions that would give the PDP winning edge in the State in the forth coming general elections.

Although the  All Progressive Congress in Abia State has been mired in a lingering crisis that particularly bordered on leadership differences, many had distanced Mr Nwamkpa from any unholy alliance with the power that be in the State before now.

The pendulum of suspicion has always rested on  the factional chairman of the APC in the State, Emmanuel Ndukwe, who oversees the Ikechi Emenike faction of the party in the State.

Mr Nwamkpa, we gathered was secretly rooting for a less-popular aspirant to fly the governorship flag of his party in the March 2 election in the State in order to make the job easy for the ruling party in the State. The intervention and superior forces from above, however, prevailed and favoured Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, who is currently flying the party’s governorship flag in the State against the wish of Nwamkpa and his core loyalists.

MERIDIAN SPY, further gathered that the abduction which took place a night to President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit in the State was to avail the chairman an excuse of not see the President who had been briefed of his anti-party dealings with the opposition in the State by party leaders in the State.

  • Jilli Airstrike: Supporters Of Terrorists Will Be Treated As Bandits, Defence Minister Warns Defence Minister Christopher Musa has warned that supporters of terrorists would be treated as criminals. He said this on Monday as he reacted to the airstrike carried out by the Nigerian Air Force airstrike in Jilli, Borno State, over the weekend. Speaking after an expanded security meeting in Kaduna with the state governor and heads of security agencies, Musa said the operation sends a clear message to those collaborating with terrorist groups. He stressed that anyone found supporting insurgents would face the same consequences as the perpetrators. “A friend of a thief is a thief,” he said, warning civilians against associating with or providing any form of assistance to terrorists. Musa urged residents to steer clear of areas known to be used by insurgents, noting that proximity or collaboration could have grave consequences. The airstrike, carried out near the village of Jilli in Gubio Local Government Area, targeted what the military described as an ISWAP enclave and logistics hub. According to the Nigerian Air Force, the operation was intelligence-driven and aimed at neutralising terror elements and destroying their equipment. However, reports have emerged alleging that the strike may have affected a weekly market in the area, with civilians, including cross-border traders, reportedly among casualties. Musa, however, maintained that the strike should serve as a strong warning to those aiding insurgent activities, reaffirming the military’s resolve to intensify operations against terrorist networks. Air Component of Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, conducted a precision air strike on a known terrorist enclave and logistics hub located near the abandoned village of Jilli in Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State. Giving an update on the airstrike, the Nigerian Army in a post on its official X handle said, “The successful strike, executed on 11 April 2026, followed sustained intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance missions over the Bindul–Jilli axis, an area long identified as a major terrorist movement corridor and convergence point for Islamic State West Africa Province terrorists and their collaborators.”
