Creative Horizon Montessori Produces First Basic Graduates in Grand Style

Creative Horizon Montessori School, Buntu, Tafa Local Government Area of Niger State, on Saturday recorded a major milestone as it graduated its first set of Basic pupils during a colourful ceremony that showcased the school’s commitment to academic excellence and child-centred learning.

The school’s second graduation ceremony attracted parents, guardians and well-wishers, with about 25 pupils from the Early Years and Basic sections advancing to the next stages of their education after impressive academic and co-curricular performances.

Speaking at the event, the Director of the school, Mr. Kabir Abdulsalam, described the graduation as a defining moment in the school’s journey since it was established in 2025.

He said Creative Horizon Montessori was founded to bridge gaps in conventional education by adopting the globally acclaimed Montessori method, which encourages children to learn through exploration, creativity and hands-on experiences.

According to him, the Montessori philosophy, pioneered by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1907 with the establishment of the first Casa dei Bambini in Rome, Italy, is rooted in careful observation, respect for every child and the belief that children thrive when given the freedom to learn in a carefully prepared environment.

“When children are allowed to explore and discover in a supportive environment, they naturally develop independence, confidence, concentration, creativity and a lifelong love for learning. These principles have remained the foundation of our teaching at Creative Horizon Montessori School,” he said.

The ceremony came alive with a variety of educational and cultural displays by the pupils, including debates, classroom presentations, recitations, stacking games, balloon challenges and other performances that earned loud applause from guests.

Parents were particularly impressed by the confidence, eloquence and creativity displayed by the pupils throughout the event.

Speaking on behalf of the parents, Mrs. Kemi Banwo commended the school’s innovative teaching methods and nurturing environment, saying they have transformed the pupils academically and socially.

She noted that the boldness, confidence and communication skills exhibited by the children reflected the quality of education and personal attention they receive at the school.

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of certificates and awards to the graduating pupils, marking the successful completion of another academic milestone and reinforcing the school’s vision of raising confident, disciplined and lifelong learners.
