The Government of Ekiti has announced that three females, whose samples were among those sent to the accredited laboratory of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC for testing, have returned positive for coronavirus.

In a statement released on Friday, the state’s Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mojisola Yahaya Kolade said the patients were primary contacts of the third case in the state; the late 29-year-old mother who died of complications from childbirth on April 22, 2020.

Giving further details, Kolade said their ages range from 26-50 years, adding that they had since been in isolation for 14 days now.

The annoncement however brings the total confirmed cases in the state to 11, of which eight are active, two have been discharged and one death.
