BREAKING:  PDP Announces Result Before INEC’s Declaration

In what may seem like a desperate move, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has gone ahead to announce the results of Saturday’s governorship election in Edo State.

Media reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is the only body authorized by the Constitution and the 2022 Electoral Act to announce election results.

However, in a press conference on Sunday, ahead of INEC’s collation of results at its central Collation Centre in Benin City, PDP governors held a press conference and announced the Edo governorship results.

Addressing the press, the Governor of Adamawa State, Umaru Fintiri, flanked by other governors of the party, stated that the figures they announced were from “our collation agent that was ongoing before INEC disrupted the process.”
