BREAKING: Nigeria Confirms 779 New COVID-19 Cases As Total Tops 24,000

Nigeria has confirmed 779 new cases of coronavirus, pushing the total to 24,077 in the country.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) broke the news on Saturday via its verified Twitter handle.

Out of the 779 new COVID-19 cases, Lagos, the epicentre, continued to top the list of daily cases by state, with 285, followed by Rivers with 68. Others are FCT-60, Edo-60, Enugu-56, Delta-47, Ebonyi-42, Oyo-41, Kaduna-19, Ogun-18, Ondo-16, Imo-12, Sokoto-11, Borno-9, Nasarawa-8, Abia-5, Gombe-5, Kebbi-5, Kano-4, Yobe-3, Ekiti-3 and Osun-2.

Total recovery rose by 372 to hit 8,625, while four new fatalities were confirmed, taking the total deaths in the country to 558.
