BREAKING: Nigeria Confirms 591 New COVID-19 Cases As Total Nears 40,000

Nigeria’s coronavirus cases have risen by 591 new infections to 39,539, as it inches closer to hit 40,000 in the country.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this on Friday via its verified Twitter handle.

Oyo recorded the highest daily cases among states with new cases, confirming 191, while Lagos, the epicentre trailed behind with 168. Others are FCT-61, Ondo-29, Osun-26, Ebonyi-24, Edo-23, Ogun-14, Rivers-13, Akwa Ibom-12, Kaduna-10, Katsina-6, Borno-4, Ekiti-3, Delta-3, Imo-3 and Niger-1.

Total discharged and death tolls rose to 16,559 and 845 in the country.

A breakdown of the cases reported by NCDC reads below:
