BREAKING: FG To Use NYSC Camps, Stadia As Isolation Centres For Coronavirus

Nigerian government has announced the use of National Youth Service Corps NYSC orientation camps and some selected stadia in the country as isolation centres in the fight against the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare on Friday disclosed via his twitter handle that the president, Muhammadu Buhari made the approval.

The youth and sport minister tweeted: “Mr. President has approved for the Ministry of Youth and Sports to open and make available the stadiums in Surulere Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja, and Kaduna, as well as our NYSC camps nationwide for use as isolation centers as they are needed. We are in touch with relevant authorities.”

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC, as of 12:00 pm on Friday, there are 65 cases of coronavirus in the country aside from a number of suspected cases.
