162 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Nigeria, taking the total to 54,905 in the country. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made the disclosure via its verified Twitter handle on Saturday. According to the update by NCDC, Lagos topped the list of new cases with 53 infections, followed by Gombe-21. Others are Oyo-19, Delta-12, Ondo-11, Plateau-10, Ebonyi-9, FCT-6, Kwara-6, Kaduna-5, Rivers-3, Ogun-2, Anambra-2, Imo-2 and Ekiti-1. The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Yahaya Bello as the Governor of Kogi State. The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Kogi Governorship Election, Musa Wada had challenged the election victory of Governor Bello at the apex court on five grounds. Wada claimed that the election held on November 16, 2019, was riddled with serious electoral infractions; rigging and over-voting, and that Governor Bello didn’t secure the highest vote.
