The Kano State Government has formally gave up its lawsuit against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in order to prevent it from investigating the state’s immediate past governor, Abdullahi Ganduje. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention has recorded 798 diphtheria cases in eight states across 33 local government areas in the country. The death toll, according to the centre, has also risen to 80, with a case-fatality ratio of 10 per cent as of June 30, 2023.
