Atiku Renews Call For Rejigging Of Security Architecture After Killing Of 43 Borno Rice Farmers By Boko Haram

Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president of Nigeria, has called for the rejigging of the nation’s architecture following the killing of 43 rice farmers by Boko Haram insurgents in Maiduguri, Borno State.

MERIDIAN SPY learnt the insurgents tied up the farmers and slit their throats on Saturday.

The killings occurred few days after Global Terrorism Index (GTI) ranked Nigeria third most terrorised country in the world for the sixth time.

Reacting after the tragic incident on Saturday night, Atiku noted that he was heartbroken over the mass slaughter of the innocent citizens.

While praying that their souls find rest, the ex-vice president called for a rejig of the nation’s security Architecture, noting that it was long overdue.

“Heartbreaking. Words fail me. The lives of our citizens should be worth much more than this,” he tweeted.

“The rejig of the nation’s security architecture is long overdue.

“May their souls rest in peace and may their families be comforted.”
