The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has warned that the payment of outstanding salaries alone will not stop the union from embarking on another industrial action in Ondo State, urging Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to address broader issues affecting the state’s university system.

The union said while the release of salaries is a welcome development, several unresolved concerns—including staff welfare, funding, infrastructure and the implementation of previous agreements—must also be addressed to ensure lasting industrial harmony.

ASUU stressed that meaningful dialogue and concrete action from the state government are necessary to resolve the lingering challenges facing lecturers and the institution.

The union added that unless the outstanding issues are comprehensively addressed, the possibility of another strike cannot be ruled out.
