Governors elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC on Wednesday night met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting which took place behind closed door is not unconnected with the coming National Executive Committee, NEC meeting of the APC, formerly scheduled to place at the party secretariate but will now hold at the Banquet Hall Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday.
The talks began at 7 pm in the Presidential Banquet Hall in the Aso Rock Villa, after Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo—chair of the Progressive Governors’ Forum—led his counterparts into the villa, after meeting for hours at the Imo State Governors lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.
POLITICS DIGEST gathered that the President and APC Governors are expected to compare notes and take a decision on some crucial issues before the NEC meeting.
The meeting is also expected to harmonize whether the position of the National Chairman will remain in the North Central, where it was before former Kano State Governor Ganduje took over.
Leaders of the zone have complained of marginalisation in the recent past calling on the party to allow them occupy the position.
