EFCC Presents Ex-Kogi Governor, Yahaya Bello For Trial in Abuja Court
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has presented former Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello in an Abuja High Court for trial over alleged mismanagement of funds while he was in the office.
The relaxed Bello was seen sitting in the dock in the courtroom, engaging in conversations and handshakes with individuals present.
He had voluntarily turned himself in to the EFCC yesterday, ending a period of legal back-and-forth that had led to the anti-graft agency declaring him wanted.
The charges against Bello stem from allegations of misappropriation of funds while serving as governor.
The EFCC alleges that he diverted public funds for personal use and engaged in other financial irregularities
