The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has paid a condolence visit to the Kaduna State Government to express solidarity and devise strategies for a swift resolution to the crisis over 200 students kidnapped from the Kuriga Community in the State.
General Musa, speaking on Monday at the Sir Kashim House, extended heartfelt condolences to the state government, recognizing the challenges the state currently faces. He emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, highlighting its critical role in fostering development and economic activities within Kaduna.
in a statement, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the Acting Director of Defence Information, Musa assured the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) commitment to safeguarding the nation, General Musa labeled the abducted children as the future leaders whose safe return is paramount.
Addressing the Kuriga community leaders, General Musa condemned the unfortunate incident, assuring them of the AFN’s relentless efforts to secure the safe return of the abducted children and bring the perpetrators to justice. He disclosed that President Ahmad Bola Tinubu had issued directives to ensure the children’s safe and healthy return, urging the community to collaborate with the military due to their familiarity with the terrain.
In response, the community leaders commended General Musa for his dedication and called for more proactive measures to combat kidnappings and other criminal activities nationwide.
While commenting, Governor Uba Sani expressed gratitude to General Musa for the visit and emphasized the fruitful collaboration between the Kaduna State Government and security agencies. He acknowledged the overwhelming support from the community and assured continued efforts to support the victims’ families and ensure the safe return of the abducted children.
The state government, in conjunction with volunteers, is actively working to provide assistance to the affected families to alleviate their suffering.
He urged the public to disseminate the information, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in addressing security challenges.
