Kayode Fayemi, Governor of Ekiti State, has recovered from the coronavirus disease.
This comes 11 days after the Governor announced he has tested positive for the virus.
Governor Fayemi who disclosed his COVID-19 recovery status via his official Twitter handle on Saturday, expressed his gratitude to God Almighty, his family, medical team and all well wishers for their prayers and solidarity.
“After 11 days in isolation, I received news that my CoviD 19 repeat test came back negative,” he wrote.
“My sincere gratitude goes to God Almighty, my family, my medical team and all well wishers for the prayers and solidarity.
“We must continue to do all we can to tackle the pandemic. JKF.”
Ekiti has so far confirmed 132 cases, out of 43,151 recorded n the country.
The Governor now joins the likes of Governors Ifeanyi Okowa, David Umahi, Rotimi Akeredolu and many others who tested positive for COVID-19 but recovered from the disease.
