A total of 103 Nigerian dental professionals have been inducted as Fellows of the International College of Dentists (ICD) at the University of Benin, Edo State. The ceremony was held on Tuesday as part of activities marking the 50th anniversary and alumni reunion of the UNIBEN School of Dentistry.
The induction was conducted under the supervision of the ICD Regent for the West Africa Sub-region, Prof. Gbemisola Oke. Among those inducted were Nigerian Dental Association President Dr Elias Emedom, Prof. Matthew Sede, Prof. Ese Anibor and Prof. Mercy Okoh.
The ICD Fellowship recognises dentists who have made significant contributions to the profession or their communities. Three dignitaries, including UNIBEN Vice-Chancellor Prof. Edoba Omoregie (SAN), were also inducted as honorary fellows.
The UNIBEN School of Dentistry also unveiled plans for a purpose-built clinical dentistry complex as part of its vision for the next 50 years.
