Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the incoming president of Nigeria, has been asked to provide proof of his alleged meetings with investors in France after leaving the country around ten days ago, just two weeks after returning from his post-election vacation.

When the president-elect left on May 10, there were rumors that he had left again for medical reasons. However, his adviser, Tunde Rahman, claimed in a statement that the former governor of Lagos State had left the country to complete some chores.

Rahman said Tinubu would use the opportunity to fine-tune the transition plans, programmes and his policy options with some of his aides.

He added that during the visit, Tinubu would engage with investors and other key allies.

However, on Tinubu’s return on Saturday, Daniel Bwala, spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar asked to see evidence of Tinubu’s meeting with the said investors in France.

According to him, there were no meetings between Tinubu and any investors in France.

Instead, Bwala disclosed that the Jagaban only met with politicians and lobbyists from Nigeria.

“Now that he (Tinubu) has finished his so-called official visit to meet with investors, etc, I dare them to release the photos of those meetings.

“I bet you if they release the photos, the foreign investors would turn out to be Nigerian politicians and Nigerian lobbyists from Nigeria,” he posted on Twitter.

Recall PUNCH reported that Tinubu last week met with presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso, in Paris
