The Senator representing in Osun East in the National Assembly, Francis Fadahunsi, has been caught in a video calling on his supporters to kill members of the Accord Party ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) member made the remarks in a video shared by Afrobeat singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.
In the video, Senator Fadahunsi who chairs the Senate Committee on Industries lamented the alleged constant killing of APC supporters by members of the Accord Party.
He therefore told his supporters to also attack and kill the killers of their fellow party men.
In the video, he was seen addressing supporters in Yoruba while speaking about the Accord Party and the forthcoming election.
“What kind of life is that? If we hear anything about Accord in Ilesa here …… record me and go and tell them.
“When we tell them, the cap they are putting on is a bad one, yellow one. It is for animals and it is animals that kill.
So, when you see them kill them too,” he said.
The alleged comments come days before voters in Osun State are expected to head to the polls to elect a governor, with incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke seeking re-election on the platform of the Accord Party.
The development also comes amid repeated appeals by security agencies, political parties and election stakeholders for supporters to shun violence and ensure a peaceful electoral process.
Political tensions have intensified in Osun in the final days of the campaign, with rival camps accusing one another of political intimidation and inflammatory rhetoric.
