The Oyo State Government has demolished a building allegedly used as a hideout by kidnappers involved in the abduction of the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu, and her children in Ibadan.
The demolished property, a three-bedroom bungalow located in Lako Community along the Aiyegun–Anaye Road axis of Ibadan, was pulled down on Monday by officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, with security support from operatives of the Nigeria Police Force.
The action, according to the state government, forms part of ongoing measures to curb kidnapping and dismantle criminal hideouts across the state.
The victims, Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were reportedly abducted at Elewura in the Challenge area of Ibadan on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
Government officials said the demolition sends a strong signal of the administration’s determination to confront insecurity and deny criminal elements operational bases within the state.
The state government reiterated its commitment to identifying and prosecuting individuals involved in criminal activities, while also taking action against properties allegedly used to facilitate such crimes in line with existing laws.
