The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the Osun State election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has expressed confidence in emerging victorious at the end of the poll.
Oyebamiji spoke shortly after casting his vote at Ward 9, Unit 11, Gantry, Ikire, where he described the voting process as seamless and hitch-free.
According to him, he was able to cast his ballot without delay, noting that the process at his polling unit had so far been peaceful.
The APC candidate commended voters for conducting themselves peacefully and urged them to maintain the calm throughout the electoral process.
He also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the deployment of security personnel across the state, saying the presence of security agencies had contributed to maintaining peace during the election.
Oyebamiji said he was satisfied with the conduct of the election at his polling unit and expressed optimism that the same level of peaceful participation would be sustained across Osun State.
“I am very confident of victory. We have done our work and we believe the people of Osun State will support us,” he said.
He urged his supporters to remain calm and vigilant as voting continued, stressing the importance of allowing the electoral process to run its course.
The Osun governorship election is being contested by candidates of various political parties across the state, with voters expected to determine who will govern the state for the next four years.
