Short-let properties are emerging as a major source of rental income across Lagos, according to a report by PUNCH.

The growing popularity of short-let accommodation is being driven by demand from business travellers, tourists, visitors and residents seeking temporary accommodation.

Property owners and investors are increasingly considering short-let apartments because they can generate higher returns than conventional long-term rentals in some high-demand areas. However, the model also comes with additional management, maintenance and regulatory considerations.

The trend reflects the changing dynamics of Lagos’ property market, where investors are exploring alternative ways to maximise rental income amid rising housing costs.
