The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced the deployment of 10,000 personnel to provide security during the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.
The deployment is aimed at safeguarding voters, electoral officials, election materials and other critical infrastructure before, during and after the poll.
The NSCDC said its personnel would work alongside other security agencies to maintain law and order and prevent acts capable of disrupting the electoral process.
The large-scale deployment comes as political activities intensify in Osun ahead of the governorship election, with security remaining a major concern for stakeholders.
