The National Sports Commission (NSC) has commended the Super Eagles for their impressive 4–1 victory over Gabon in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Africa Playoffs and delivered on its pledge of a $30,000-per-goal incentive to the team.

According to the Commission, the players received the full reward immediately after the match, a move the NSC said demonstrates a growing culture of motivation, transparency, and athlete-centred administration in Nigerian sports.

The NSC also expressed gratitude to its private sector partners for promptly fulfilling their commitments, stressing that the collaboration aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises accountability and improved welfare for national athletes.
