Nigeria has the potential to become a major construction and infrastructure powerhouse in Africa if it can unlock greater investment, strengthen local capacity and address persistent challenges affecting the sector.

Industry stakeholders say Nigeria’s large population, expanding cities and significant infrastructure needs provide enormous opportunities for growth in construction, housing, transport, energy and other infrastructure projects.

They also stressed the importance of improving access to finance, developing skilled manpower, supporting local manufacturers and creating a more predictable regulatory environment.

With sustained investment and effective policies, the construction sector could contribute significantly to economic growth, job creation and infrastructure development across the country.
