National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Sokoto State has commenced registration of unemployed persons in the state which will last between 17th April to 9th May, 2023 in all the 23 local government areas of the state.

The supervision of the exercise was witnessed by the representative of the HOD Planning Research and Statistics (PR&S) NDE Headquarters, Abuja, Mallam Umar Aliyu, and also a representative of the state coordinator, Mal. Suleiman Adamu Kangiwa.

The registration exercise was conducted in the NDE Sokoto State office and simultaneously in the 23 LGAs and in turn subdivided to ward level to avoid overcrowding and seamless access to the registration centres.

The supervision team, headed by the representative of the state coordinator and a representative of the HOD PR&S Headquarters Abuja and other supporting staff of the NDE Sokoto State office went around some local government areas in the first day which includes Sokoto South, Sokoto North, Wamakko and Bodinga local government areas.

The supervision crew was overwhelmed with the level of preparedness, organization and smooth running of the exercise.

The participants when interviewed appreciated the NDE and federal government for a wonderful initiative geared towards the unemployed persons especially the youth.
