A resident of Kano, Mallam Salihu, who lost his wife and six children in a devastating incident in Chiranci community, is taking steps to begin again, with plans underway for a new marriage.
The heartbreaking event, which occurred months ago, left the local community reeling and drew sympathy from across Kano State and beyond. Since then, efforts have been made to support the grieving father as he navigates life after the loss.
Sources indicate that Salihu recently returned from Saudi Arabia, where he performed Umrah. The pilgrimage was reportedly facilitated by the Kano State Government as part of measures to provide him with spiritual and emotional support during his period of mourning.
Confirming recent developments, the State Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Shehu Tijjani, disclosed that Salihu is now making arrangements to remarry. He revealed this following a visit by the bereaved man to his office, describing the decision as a meaningful step toward healing and recovery.
Tijjani emphasized that the state government remains committed to assisting Salihu, both spiritually and socially, to help him regain stability. He added that authorities would also support the upcoming marriage to ensure its success.
Members of the community and other well-wishers have continued to rally around Salihu, with many describing his decision as a powerful sign of resilience and hope in the face of profound personal loss.
