JUST IN: Lebanese Man Who Offered A Nigerian Woman For Sale At $1,000 Arrested

A Lebanese man, Wael Jerro who advertised a Nigerian lady for sale on Facebook for $1,000 has been arrested by the Lebanese Government.

Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission NIDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa who broke the news in a post via her Twitter handle on Thursday, did not mention if the Nigerian woman believed to be a native of Oyo State, had been rescued.

She tweeted: “Breaking news on Trafficked Nigerian girl for sale on Facebook by a Lebanese !The Lebenese Government just announced the arrest of Mr. WAEL JERRO for onward prosecution against criminal sales of a human, a young Nigerian girl.”

NIDCOM had on Wednesday disclosed that a manhunt for the Lebanese human trafficker were underway.

The suspect, Jerro had advertised the victim, Busari Peace, with her Nigerian passport on a Facebook page, ‘Buy and Sell in Lebanon.’

A price tag of $1,000 on the 30-year-old lady believed to be from Ibadan, Oyo State.

The incident was followed with widespread outrage on social media, as many Nigerians called for the arrest of the suspect and rescue of the victim.
