The Idiroko Unit Command of Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC has advised Nigerians to celebrate Easter on a low-key to prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus pandemic in the country.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria NAN in Ota, Ogun State, on Thursday, the FRSC Unit Commander, Akinwunmi Olaluwoye who gave the advice, said it became necessary to remind Nigerians not to lose consciousness of the ravaging COVID-19 but to comply with the government’s directives on how to stay safe and live healthy during this trying moment.

“We enjoin people to stay wherever they are to avoid further spread of COVID-19 in the country,” he said.

The unit commander also said that the Joint Enforcement Team headed by the Police facilitated a high level of compliance with the Presidential lock-down directive in Idiroko and its environs.

Recall that the federal government had, through the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, declared Friday, April 10 and Monday, April 13 as public holiday to mark the Easter celebration by Christians worldwide.
