Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite, has revealed that the Federal Government, in collaboration with the Small and Medium Scale Entreprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), is set to roll out the “Renewed Hope Job Centres” across the country.

Speaking on Tuesday in Abuja, during the presentation of her ministry’s achievements at the ongoing Ministrial Sectorial Update, Dr. Uzoka announced that the initiative is to match available vacancies in industries and businesses with available talent pools across the federation.

According to the Minister, “this is both a physical and digital location. We are currently piloting and will roll it out across the country.

“So far, we have matched 4,000 people to job opportunities in various SMEs. We are increasing applications from job seekers and we are also increasing our reach out to businesses to post their vacancies.”

Similarly, the Minister announced the launch of the National Talent Export Program (NATEP), aimed at creating 1 million jobs through talent exchange/export, business process outsourcing, and job outsourcing.

She added that the program has already secured an MOU to outsource 50,000 jobs from the USA to Nigeria, leveraging the country’s IT skilled workforce. Additionally, NATEP will facilitate physical talent export to the Middle East and Europe, providing Nigerians with dignified job opportunities abroad.
