The Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Entrepreneurship Development has announced partnerships with the African Business Heroes and Cascador to strengthen support systems for Nigerian entrepreneurs and drive sustainable enterprise growth.

The collaboration, implemented under the Renewed Hope Enterprise Bridge Initiative, is aimed at addressing structural challenges facing small businesses, particularly the gap between access to funding and the capacity to effectively utilise it.

According to the office, the partnerships were informed by insights from the “Dear Entrepreneur” stakeholder engagement, which brought together entrepreneurs, policymakers and ecosystem players.

In a statement released today said the findings from the engagement showed that while access to capital remains a major constraint, many businesses struggle more with limited managerial capacity, technical expertise and long-term institutional support.

According to the statement, “the initiative will roll out the Digital Lions Programme in partnership with Alibaba Global Initiatives under the African Business Heroes platform.

“The programme is designed to equip selected Nigerian entrepreneurs with digital skills, business tools and globally tested frameworks to improve execution and scale their ventures.”

In addition, the partnership with Cascador will focus on what stakeholders describe as “intentional capital”—a model that combines funding with leadership training, strategic advisory and access to business networks.

The statement reads in part: “The approach reflects a growing consensus that financial support alone is insufficient without the systems and knowledge required to sustain growth.

“They added that government’s role remains focused on creating an enabling environment by strengthening frameworks, fostering partnerships and removing barriers that hinder enterprise development.

“The inaugural cohort of the Digital Lions Programme is expected to draw participants from key sectors, including technology, agriculture, manufacturing and the creative industry.”
