The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has disclosed that 18 states are currently under investigation over allegations of fund mismanagement.

According to the commission, the investigations are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen accountability, ensure transparency in the management of public funds and combat financial crimes across the country.

The EFCC said the inquiries will follow due process, adding that anyone found culpable after investigations will face appropriate legal action in line with existing laws.

The development underscores the agency’s continued focus on promoting prudent management of public resources and tackling corruption in public institutions.
