Davido Headlines  for FIFA World Cup  Countdown Concert

FIFA has announced Nigerian music star Davido as one of the performers at its Countdown Concert in Los Angeles as celebrations begin ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The concert will take place on June 10 at Crypto.com Arena and forms part of a live music event linking audiences across the United States, Canada and Mexico, the three host nations of the tournament. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. local time, with the live broadcast starting an hour later. The event is being organised in partnership with the Grammys and will be streamed worldwide through FIFA’s digital platforms, including TikTok.

Davido and Major Lazer are the first artists confirmed for the Los Angeles show, with FIFA saying more performers will be announced before the event.

In a social media post announcing the line-up, FIFA said:

“Los Angeles Countdown Concert lineup is here. On June 10, the FIFA Countdown Concert in collaboration with the Grammys comes to Crypto.com Arena. Featuring performances by Diplo’s Major Lazer, Davido, and more special guests to be announced soon. Live on TikTok June 10. Watch on demand on VuMe Live, after the event.”

The Los Angeles concert is one of three Countdown Concerts being held across the World Cup host countries. Performances in Toronto and Mexico City will also be connected through a live broadcast designed to bring together football fans across North America ahead of the tournament.

FIFA World Cup 2026 Chief Tournament Officer for the United States, Manolo Zubiria, said the concert series reflects the unity and cultural ties that surround the World Cup.

“The Countdown Concert series celebrates the passion, unity and cultural connections across three countries and around the world that define the FIFA World Cup 2026,” he said.

He added that Los Angeles would host an event bringing together music, football and fans as preparations continue for the tournament.

FIFA said the full concert, along with behind-the-scenes content, will be available after the event on its video-on-demand platform, VuMe Live.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be staged across the United States, Canada and Mexico, making it the first tournament to be jointly hosted by three countries.
