The Dangote Group has commended the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for the remarkable impact of its Safety System Gap Analysis, which has led to a historic decline in crashes involving Dangote trucks nationwide.

During an appreciation visit to FRSC National Headquarters, the Head of Transport, Dangote Group, Mr. Murillo Silva, praised Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed for the professionalism and strategic recommendations that have transformed the company’s transport safety operations.

“FRSC and Dangote Group share a common vision on what must be done to make the transport sector safer, and the partnership is already producing measurable results,” Silva said.

The FRSC Gap Analysis, conducted in September 2025, had revealed critical lapses including speed limiter violations, poor driver rest management, overloading, weak safety monitoring systems, and high crash exposure linked largely to human factors.

Following the implementation of FRSC’s recommendations, comparative crash data showed a 56 per cent reduction in crashes — from 25 cases in Q1 2025 to 11 cases in Q1 2026.

Fatal crashes declined by 36 per cent, injuries dropped by 52 per cent, and deaths reduced by 60 per cent, from 35 in 2025 to 14 in 2026.

Reacting to the development, Corps Marshal Mohammed described the outcome as proof that “strategic partnerships, data-driven interventions, and institutional collaboration remain critical to improving road safety and saving lives.”

He commended Dangote management for embracing scrutiny and implementing reforms, noting that sustained compliance could position the company as one of Africa’s safest fleet operators.

Mohammed further urged other fleet operators to emulate Dangote’s example by adopting proactive safety measures capable of reducing crashes and improving operational standards on Nigerian roads
