Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, has said there has been no new confirmed case for the deadly Coronavirus in the country.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Ehanire stated that as at Monday, no new case has been detected from the 19 contacts in Lagos and 39 in Ogun state being observed.

“About 14 tests have been conducted, and except the index patient, no other person has tested positive”

Commenting on the suspected case in Plateau State, the minister said they have all been tested at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reference laboratory and they all tested negative for the virus infection.

Ehanire however cautioned citizens not to create panic or stock protective mask as it was unnecessary given the lone case discovered so far.
