Cardoso to lead Nigeria Delegates to WB/IMF meeting ‎

Mr Olayemi Cardoso, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), will lead Nigeria’s delegation to the 2025 World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings in Washington D.C., which starts on Oct. 13. ‎ ‎Cardoso, who serves as Nigeria’s alternate governor at the Bretton Woods institutions, steps in for Finance Minister Wale Edun, who is currently indisposed.

‎ ‎The update was disclosed in a statement issued by Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga, on Sunday in Abuja. ‎ ‎Also on the delegation is the Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anite, alongside other key government officials. ‎ ‎

According to the World Bank, major sessions include the Development Committee Plenary on Oct. 16 and the IMF’s International Monetary and Financial Committee meeting on Oct. 17.

‎ ‎Other key events will feature regional briefings, press conferences, and policy forums on global development, the world economy, and financial markets
