Former lawmaker and a spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar 2023 presidential campaign, Daniel Bwala has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu can govern the country from anywhere in the world.

Mr Bwala is reacting to a statement made by his former boss on the absence of both Tinubu and Kashim Shettima from the country.

Atiku had on Monday wrote through his X page that he has been inundated by reports of the absence of the president and vice president from the country.

He further described the situation as “unprecedented that the two leaders will be absent from the country at the same time, especially now that the nation is faced with daunting challenges.”

However, Bwala disagreed with Atiku, saying that Aso Vila is not a block industry, while Tinubu is not a bricklayer.

He said, “The President @officialABAT is in charge of the country and can govern from anywhere in the world whether the Vice President is also in Nigeria or not. Aso Vila is not a block industry and the President is not a bricklayer. Read Section 5 of the Constitution.

Meridian Spy had reported that President Tinubu left the country on Tuesday, April 23, for the Netherlands on an official visit.

A statement announcing his trip to the European country stated that after his official engagement in the Netherlands, the president would proceed to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting scheduled for April 28–29.

However, one week after the meeting, the president has yet to return to the country.

Also, his Vice on Sunday May 5, departed Nigeria to represent President Tinubu at the 2024 US-Africa Business Summit organised by the Corporate Council on Africa.

With the president and his vice currently out of the country, Nigerians have been raising questions about who is in charge of the affairs of the country.
