Twenty three people were allegedly kidnapped while one was killed by bandits at the Dogon-Daji community along the Abuja-Kaduna road near Kagarko in Kaduna State. The Supreme Court, on Friday, nullified the ban on use of the old N200, N500 and N1000 banknotes as legal tenders. The apex court, in a unanimous decision by a seven-member panel of Justices, held that the old banknotes should remain valid legal tenders until December 31. It held that the old Naira notes should be used alongside the redesigned currencies. The death toll of Lassa fever in Nigeria so far this year has risen to 104, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention. In its week eight Lassa fever situation report, the NCDC said there had been a total of 636 confirmed cases recorded from 22 and 88 local government areas since the beginning of the year. A total of 2,978 suspected cases were recorded from January to February 26, 2023.
