APC’s Abracadabra Primaries By Farooq Kperogi
In the last few days, I have seen videos of APC primary elections across several states, and one thing is consistent in all of them: the process is both hilarious and outrageous.
You see hungry-looking voters standing listelessly in line while someone counts them with the confidence of a kindergartener just learning numbers.
They start from one, get to 10, jump to 50, skip to 100 and, before you can blink, they have counted thousands. I have seen these videos from both the North and the South.
I haven’t shared them because, for all I know, they may be skits meant to mock one or two actual incidents.
Please, someone should tell me these are skits. Because if they are not, we may as well cancel primary elections and find another way to select candidates.
