Anambra Police Take  Delivery of New Armoured Personnel Carrier to Boost Security

The Anambra State Police Command has received a new Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) to enhance its operational capacity in tackling security challenges across the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, disclosed this at the State Police Headquarters in Awka while taking delivery of the equipment on behalf of officers and men of the Command.

Orutugu described the APC as a critical asset that will significantly improve the Command’s ability to respond to emerging threats and strengthen efforts aimed at maintaining peace, law, and order.

He commended the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for what he termed “consistent and proactive leadership” that continues to reflect in improved logistics, welfare, and morale for personnel nationwide.

The Police Command assured residents that the addition of the APC would be fully deployed in support of ongoing security operations. It also urged the public to sustain their cooperation with security agencies to ensure a safer environment.

Police spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga, who issued the statement on Monday, reaffirmed that the Command remains committed to protecting lives and property in Anambra State.
